Southern Cornbread Dressing
Southern Cornbread Dressing
Serves: 12 to 14

2 1/2 c Cornbread
4 ea Slices of Loaf Bread
10 ea Soda Crackers
4 c Chicken/Turkey Stock
2 ea Hard boiled eggs
4 tb Butter/Margerine melted
1 1/4 tb Rubbed Sage
1/2 c Milk
1 c Onion chopped
1 c Celery chopped
2 Eggs well beaten
1/2 ts Baking Powder
1 tb Sugar
Salt and Pepper to taste

Chop Cooked Eggs. Mix Cornbread, loaf bread, and soda crackers into chicken stock. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Add Salt and Pepper to taste. (Dressing will be better if mixture is allowed to stand overnight in refrigerator.) Pour 1 1/2" thick into greased, 9 X 13 Pirex dish. Bake in preheated 427 oven until brown and firm but not hard. This may be frozen before or after baking.
