Grilled Tuna with Ponzu Sauce
Grilled Tuna with Ponzu Sauce
1 c. light soy sauce
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. sliced green onions
1 Tbl. chopped garlic
1 Tbl. minced ginger
4 7oz. Hay Tuna steaks
Ponzu Sauce
1 c. Mirin (slightly sweet Rice Wine Vinegar)
3/4c. light soy sauce
1 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 Tbl. fresh lemon juice

In a large bowl mix the soy sauce and sugar. Add green onions, garlic, and ginger and stir to combine. Add tuna and marinate for 1 hour. In a small saucepan, bring Mirin to a boil and reduce to 1/3c., about 5 minutes. remove from heat and allow to cool. Whisk in soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice. Cool to room temp. Grill tuna over high heat for 2 minutes per side for rare or longer for desired doneness. Serve with Ponzu spooned over the tuna.
