1/4 cup of bacon fat(may need a little more)
2 lbs chopped green cabbage
2 tsp of sugar
1 well seasoned cast iron skillet
On med heat melt the bacon grease and add the cabbage. Stir often. Add 1 tsp of sugar and stir. After about 5 mins taste to adjust sugar levels. Add Salt and Pepper to taste and serve as a great warm side dish. Optional spices/herbs in fried cabbage include caraway, cumin, and fennel. .
