Barbecue Chicken Lasagna with Smoked Gouda
Ingredients1 lb cooked lasagna noodles
2 cups shredded chicken
2 cups shredded smoked Gouda Cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese
1 egg yolk
3 Tbl chopped garlic
3 Tbl chopped onion
1 cup ketchup
2 Tbl apple cider vinegar
1 ts. Worcestershire Sauce
3/4 C Bourbon
For the sauce:
sauté your onion and 2 Tbl of garlic in vegetable oil. Deglaze the pan with the bourbon and allow the alcohol to cook off about 2 minutes. Then add the ketchup, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes until sauce consistency.
For the Cheese mix, combine the egg yolk, cream cheese, 1/2 cups smoked Gouda Cheese and the rest of the garlic in a mixing bowl.
Toss the chicken in enough Barbecue Sauce to coat. Begin layering the pasta in a baking dish layered with the chicken and cheese mixture. Top the whole thing with the remaining Gouda and bake covered in a 325º degree oven for about 45 minutes. Serve with fried green tomatoes
