Apple Brown Betty
**** This recipe is an old.Kinda like Kevin but anyway.... it will be done a little different with no real exact measurements. Cut enough fresh apples to fill a 9x9" baking dish. (keep a bowl of lemon water close by to keep the apples from turning brown). Place the cut apples in the baking dish and cover with about 1/2 cup of both brown and white sugar. Sprinkle both nutmeg,(grated fresh), and cinnamon. Pre-heat oven to 350ºF. While the oven is heating up, get a large bowl and add 1 stick soft butter, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of flour. Work those between your fingers till they become creamed and about the size of little peas, maybe even fava beans . Pour your flour mixture over the apples and mix a little with your hands. Top this with a few dollops of butter and bake between 30-45 minutes. The apples will buble and the top turns a golden brown. Apple brown betty is best served hot with ice cream or caramel sauce.
